Travels with Eleanor Puppet Show

Local author Linda Zimmer will be doing a puppet show adaptation of the book Travels with Eleanor by Zimmer and artist Jeanne Brenneman. The puppet show will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, at the CVB.

When Fala, the little Scottie dog belonging to President Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, stows away in Eleanor's roadster, a grand backroads adventure begins. Leaving the White House behind, following country roads, they arrive in a small village in West Virginia filled with "love, laughter and happily ever after."

Linda Zimmer is a writer, puppeteer, teaching artist, and presenter for the Beatrix Potter Society. She creates marionettes in her puppet studio in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. where she lives with her husband, circus cats and poodles.

Jeanne Brenneman has been expressing the natural world through watercolor for fifty years. Mixing colors directly on the paper in fluid washes, she paints in a style of enhanced realism.
